7 no-gos in your beauty routine
Consistency is key
And these 7 no-gos in your beauty routine will help you to a more glowy complexion.
With high-quality skincare products, you're halfway to a radiant look. But what about your beauty routine? Do you sometimes go to bed without cleansing your face first? You can read about these and 6 other habits that you should get out of the habit of for beautiful skin here.
No-go 1: Going to bed with make-up on
➤ Always remove mascara and foundation, even when you are tired: We all go to sleep without removing our make-up. Because we're too tired, too lazy or too comfortable. Or because most of it is obviously already off. Nevertheless, you should first go to the bathroom and then to bed. Remaining make-up residue can cause inflammation, clog the pores, which can lead to more pimples, for example. Cosmetics that are not removed thoroughly can also irritate the skin and eyes. In particular Mascara, it can travel into the eye lid and then stay there.
No-Go 2: Go to sleep without cleansing
➤ Never go to sleep again without cleansing your skin: Removing (eye) make-up is not the same as cleansing your face. This is also important: it's actually the first step to beautiful skin. Because without you realizing or seeing it, quite a lot of dirt collects on your face during the day. Did you know, for example, that tiny particles in the air can also damage the skin in the long term and cause it to age more quickly? So don't go to bed without removing dirt, bacteria, sweat and excess sebum from your face. However, use a mild cleanser that leaves the skin barrier intact, such as the cleansers from NAYA.
No-Go 3: Using the same towel for too long
Always use a clean towel: It is advisable to replace the towel regularly. Even after a single use, a lot of bacteria remains on the fabric, which will end up on your face again the next time.
No-Go 4: Scrubs, excessive cleansing and squeezing out pimples
Don't mistreat your skin with grains and beads: Pimples, shiny, oily skin or other troubled areas on your face? Don't start over-cleansing with brushes, cleansing gloves or rough scrubs. Believe me, it's not good for your skin. These products can damage the skin barrier even more, making it even more susceptible to dirt and other particles. The result: more agitation. Needless to say, squeezing pimples is not a good idea either. Instead, use a good exfoliant based on salicylic acid such as the one from NAYA.
No-Go 5: "Forgetting" to clean sponges and brushes
Clean your make-up utensils regularly: Not only your face, but also the utensils you use for your face should be cleaned regularly. In other words, the sponges, small and large brushes you use to apply your foundation, powder or eyeshadow. You really don't want to know what accumulates in the hairs and fibers of these products. (You can read more about this here).
No-Go 6: Leaving the bed (or gym) without freshening up
Always cleanse after getting up or exercising: It is also important to cleanse your skin in the morning if you need to. Skin that tends to be oilier has an increased sebum production at night or during the summer months, we might all sweat more than we enjoy at night. If you have spots, you really should cleanse your skin twice a day. And don't forget to use your cleanser when you've "worked up a sweat". If you have very dry, sensitive skin, try to not cleanse and refresh your skin with splash of water in the morning instead of your cleanser. If you apply your moisturiser immediately after your treat stage, you will lock in the moisture and active ingredients well.
No-Go 7: Going out in the sun without sun cream
Start the day well with sun cream The best way to combat wrinkles is to use a good sun cream every day. It becomes really important to apply sunscreen when the UV index is above 3. In Germany, this is roughly the period from April to October. Use a cream with a minimum SPF 30. On sunny days, I advise you to use SPF 50, such as Everyday Sun Cream SPF 50. And even when it is cold or cloudy, UVA rays still reach the skin. Our Everyday Sun Cream SPF 50+ is so beautifully light, you won't even notice it is there.
