MY TOP FACE YOGA TIPS

Consistency over intensity

It’s not about doing 30 minutes once a week. Just 5–10 minutes daily will transform your skin, mood, and confidence over time. Think of Face Yoga like brushing your teeth – small, consistent care creates long-term beauty.

Always start with a clean, nourished face

Do your exercises after cleansing and applying skincare – ideally when your skin is slightly damp and nourished. My favourite combo? Aura Essence followed by RosēaCalm Cream for the perfect gliding surface.

Use a mirror – it’s your best teacher

Watching yourself helps you refine technique, build symmetry, and avoid overusing dominant facial muscles. Over time, you’ll feel more connected and in tune with your expressions.

Breath movement

Don’t forget to breathe! Slow, intentional breathing activates your parasympathetic nervous system – which not only relaxes your body but enhances skin regeneration.

Less is more

You don’t need to stretch or pull hard. Face Yoga is about precision and presence, not force. Use soft pressure and mindful touch – especially around delicate areas like eyes and lips.

Pair with skincare rituals

Layer Face Yoga into your morning or evening skincare routine. Massage in your oil or cream while doing your jawline or cheek exercises. It makes the process feel beautiful, not like a chore.

Here are the five aspects of NAYA's Face Yoga Method

Face exercise

We all know the muscles in our body need toning through regular exercise, but so do many of the 57 muscles in our head, face and neck to firm and smooth the skin attached.

Face massage

Massaging the face is such an important part of Face Yoga. It helps boost our circulation, improve lymphatic drainage and reduce our facial tension. This means we can enjoy glowing, healthy and vibrant skin.

Face relaxation

Some muscles in our face need to be exercised, but some muscles which hold stress and are overused in the wrong way need to be relaxed. This can help with our overall well-being and comfort as well as reduce and prevent repetitive stress-related expression lines.

Acupressure

Acupressure is derived from ancient Eastern traditions and is a key tool in my method. As well as helping the skin look glowing and healthy, it has many deeper benefits for our wellbeing and health, as it helps our 'qi', 'prana' or life force energy flow effectively.

Wellbeing

Feeling good on the inside is the key to great health and great skin. When we feel good on the inside, this radiates out through our face. Positive affirmations, breathing, nutrition, skincare and self-care are key aspects of my method, which I love sharing for an inner and outer glow.

FAQs

Face Yoga is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier. It has five main parts to it: face exercise, face massage, acupressure, relaxation, wellbeing.

No not if you do it in the correct way. Wrinkles are caused by repeated expressions and we aren't doing that. We are doing controlled exercise with resistance (and checking our faces to ensure they remain smooth throughout) using all 3 layers of skin together. We do gently massage and relaxation too. Studies show that Face Yoga reduces wrinkles and doesn't cause them but make sure you learn techniques from a qualified professional online or in person.

If you know me by now, you know that I like things that are proven by science! :)

In January 2018 a key study done at Northwestern University showed that 20 weeks of Face Yoga,
30 minutes day can make the face look 3 years younger. Also, a BBC study of two twin doctors showed that the doctor that did Face Yoga for 1 month looked 1 year younger. There have also been multiple studies of the benefits of massage, acupressure, deep breathing and relaxation which all form a key part of my method.

If you want to look and feel glowing and healthy then Face Yoga is for you. It's never too late to start, At any age you can lift and tone a muscle, boost circulation, lymphatic drainage and relaxation tension. It is never too early to start Face Yoga either. Plus it's great for men and women.

Results vary from person to person. The key is regular daily practice. So if you can do anything from 2 minutes to 50 minutes per day you will see results. You will see and feel some results immediately but more significant results within a week. For longer lasting results it takes some people 6 months. Combining with a healthy lifestyle, high-quality skincare products and enjoying the relaxing benefits speeds up results too.
