8 BEAUTY MORNING RITUALS THAT DAMAGE YOUR SKIN
8 Beauty Morning Rituals That Damage Your Skin
Everyone has their own beauty rituals that are automatically followed in the morning. However, there are some things that do your skin more harm than good. We'll show you which habits you should rather break and stop doing:
1. Working on Skin Impurities
When the light shines so beautifully into the bathroom in the morning, you are tempted to squeeze out blackheads and small pimples in front of the mirror. But please stop doing that. After the skin has had a chance to regenerate during the night, it is all the more sensitive in the morning. If you then irritate it, inflammations and invisible impurities develop more quickly under the skin. The result can be unsightly hubs that form as a result. Instead, use the Everyday Glow Serum to get the Vitamin C working on that unwelcome visitor.
2. Use Dirty Make-Up Applicators
Dirty make-up applicators such as brushes and sponges collect bacteria and dead skin cells over time, which can lead to inflammation and pimples. Therefore, it is best to wash your utensils with a special cleansing lotion after each application before using brushes and the like the next time.
3. Dry & Chappy Lips
When it comes to facial care, the lips are often forgotten. When you feel that the skin around your mouth feels dry, the problem is usually solved with a skincare stick on the go. You should definitely change that: It's best to incorporate lip care into your morning beauty routine right away. Lips are particularly susceptible to sun damage, which can cause herpes if you don't protect them. It is best to use a lip balm that has a sun protection factor. And in the evening you can treat it to a wonderful lip mask to deeply hydrate your lips. At the same time plump up any fine lines and reverse the signs of sun damage.
4. Using the Wrong Skin Care
While we prepare our skin ideally for the night with various night and eye creams in the evening, care in the morning can be streamlined. But the one thing to never forget: Always apply a high-quality serum/essence. These consist of smaller molecules that penetrate deep into the skin and thus provide it with a high concentration of active ingredients. This prevents wrinkles and impurities.
5. Apply Skin Care Products in the Wrong Order
As a general rule (not only in the morning): Apply more liquid products first (e.g. serums) and only then thicker creams (e.g. sunscreen). Care products with a thicker consistency take longer to be absorbed and would not allow the lighter creams to penetrate the skin. We borrow the Onion-Look from the Fashion Industry and the same applies to your skincare. You don't wear your bra on top of a thick sweater; but start with your bra, thin top, t-shirt followed by the sweater. And the same applies to your skincare routine.
6. Forget Sunscreen
Speaking of sunscreen, even if the sun is not shining outside, you should always apply sunscreen to your skin. Most moisturisers and some make-up foundations have a sun protection factor that protects the skin. However, if you are in direct sunlight, you should of course go for proper sunscreens that have a higher SPF. It is known that too much sun on unprotected skin can cause not only wrinkles but also cancer. What many people don't know, however, is this: Daily sun protection regenerates the skin and can heal damage that has already occurred.
7. Over-Cleansing Your Face Properly
Many of us have gotten into the habit of washing our face too often. With all the industry message that cleansing is so important, double-cleansing, acid peels etc., we overdo it and the skin's natural skin barrier gets thinner and impaired. It is key to thoroughly wash your face in the evening to remove make-up and dirt. But a cleanser cannot distinguish between dirt or good oils and wipe all of it away. Reduce your cleansing to once a day in the evening and apply the carbonated wash in the morning.
8. Use Aggressive Cleansing Lotions
While you should definitely cleanse your face in the morning, it is very important to use the right products here. Strong exfoliants or perfumed lotions are taboo. As already mentioned, the skin is particularly sensitive in the morning and should therefore only be treated with gentle products. Therefore, use unscented and additive-free facial cleansing oil in particular for sensitive skin. Try the beauty miracle product mineral water. And use our Vegan Dry Brush for a gentle exfoliation.
