4 Tips to get your skin Spring ready
SPRING SKINCARE: WHAT DOES YOUR SKIN NEEDS TO GET SPRING READY
As soon as the first warm breeze brushes our cheeks, we know: Spring is finally here. That's wonderful! After all, our endorphins get going and let us float light-footed through the day. But it also means: mood swings for the skin. Sometimes it reacts sensitively to the change in weather. And now? It's simple: give it just the right care to strengthen it and help it enjoy the new season. We present five must-haves from the facial care sector.
Everything new comes with spring. As the saying goes? All beginnings are difficult. This also applies to our skin. Once it has become accustomed to dry winter air, a new era begins at the start of spring. For a balanced, clear and radiant complexion, your face needs above all: moisture and strengthening. You can get this not only from the inside through a clean, healthy diet and plenty of water. Anti-ageing creams with special plant extracts and natural active ingredients also help to strengthen stressed skin. The result: a fine-pored complexion with improved elasticity.
Get spring ready
Facial care and body care are part of everyday life for all of us. In particular, after a long winter we have to take care of our dry skin. Because let’s be honest: we are winter tired. Rough skin on the arms and legs, as well as the pale, often impure and uneven complexion, wrinkles around the eyes, chapped lips, neglected feet, the list goes on. The long cold season looks like an enormous dry spell for our skin. Literally. While we are freezing outside in the cold, thanks to the heating, it is summery inside – creating quite a challenge for our skin. As the sebum production slows down during the cold season, the skin’s own protective coat weakens – the fine film of fat and moisture on the skin is getting thinner. As a result, harmful substances and irritants can penetrate more easily and cause skin stress. In addition, much more natural moisture is lost when the air is dry due to the heat.
But there are good news.
So that our tired-looking skin can experience the change of seasons as relaxed as possible and have a beautiful glow, we can already start to gently wake it up from the winter sleepiness. So bye, bye winter, until next time.
N0 1 Quench your skin’s thirst
Sun protection and hydration instead of overly greasy creams and too much make-up. The secret recipe for skin care in spring is: Keep it simple. Use products with hyaluronic acid and regularly move in the fresh air. It creates the best conditions for the complexion to be healthy and radiantly beautiful in the warm season.
Instead of oil formulations that protect against the cold in winter, the skin now primarily needs moisture, i.e. lighter oil-in-water formulas.
The skin is particularly sensitive in the transition period, which is noticeable through dry spots. No matter how often you apply cream, it doesn’t get any better. There is a simple solution: quench your skin’s thirst with hyaluronic acid, or nature’s answer the silverear mushroom. Products containing hyaluronic will help to deeply hydrate each layer of your skin to give your skin back its bounce and also make it look fresh and plump. If you suffer from particularly dry patches, treat yourself with a hyaluronic mask. Apply it overnight so that the skin has the opportunity to absorb the moisture it needs. In this case, don’t be afraid to use too much. The skin only absorbs as much moisture as it actually needs. Aura Hydration Essence is a versatile product that can exactly achieve this to deeply hydrate each skin layer as we are using five different types of Hyaluronic acid in the formulations.
Your complexion will quickly look much rosier and fresher again.
Hyaluronic acid - Foundation of youth
Hyaluronic Acid is a true fountain of youth due to its ability to bind a great deal of moisture. Many skin creams therefore prefer to use the active ingredient to give the skin a plumper and fresher appearance. However, make sure you get different types. Typically brands predominantly only use large or large and medium. Today in the market, you can have multiple Hyaluronic acids to deeply hydrate your skin.
Current trend: Exotic active ingredients such as bee venom, plant placenta are increasingly finding their way into cream pots. Not sure about you but we don’t believe in those and stick to being 100% vegan. As we are also PETA certified. While these substances are considered natural remedies, you won’t find these in our pots.
Instead, we are using a newly designed and invented vegan-based Hyaluronic acid based on fermentation that provides you a unique hydration using five different types of Hyaluronic acid. This is how your skin experiences its very own springtime: with new energy and an all-round invigorating feeling!
N0 2 Spring cleaning the skin
Not only does your apartment need a spring clean. Your skin would also like to be prepared for the easier season. Moving from drying heating air to icy cold climates made it difficult to manage the skin during the winter season. Thus, a deep cleanse using a peeling is best suited for this. This effectively removes dead cells and dry skin cells and helps your skin breath deeply. We prefer chemical peels instead of mechanical peels. Gentle enough for sensitive skin and to support the skin during this change in temperature.

With a thorough exfoliation, the old, dry skin cells can now be removed. You can simply use a luff for your body and use it under the shower or make it part of your day and night care on your entire body to gently exfoliate your skin. In addition, you can use a Dry Body Brush to remove dry skin cells pre shower while giving yourself a beautiful lymphatic drainage massage naturally giving your skin a rosy hue. In addition, treat yourself to a beautiful mask to clean your pores. You can use exfoliation mask that use actives such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to dissolve the “glue” that binds old skin cells together on your skin’s surface, all without any scrubbing or scraping. This type of exfoliations can be surprisingly thorough and a gentle way to clean your pores on a deeper level. In fact, research shows that regular use of glycolic and lactic acid leads to significant skin improvement and rejuvenation. However, if you have more sensitive skin, why not try our Hydration Mask to gentle yet effectively remove your old skin cells and make way for the new while providing deep hydration and strengthening the skin barrier.

N0 3 Vitamin Boost for rosy-looking skin
Anti Ageing with Vitamin C
Vitamin C provides an impressive anti ageing kick! Try it and you will be thrilled by the fast and effective result with which your anti-aging serum reduces fine lines and wrinkles and noticeably tightens your skin. Collagen is a component of the skin that makes it look firm and even. Over time, the concentration of collagen in the skin decreases, causing the skin to look saggy and the first wrinkles to appear. Vitamin C helps the skin to form collagen and plumps up the skin again. The facial skin regains its youthful, fresh elasticity.

N0 4 Don't forget the décolletage
N0 5 Sun protection
I know I preach sunscreen for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I know most people do not necessarily adhere to using sunscreen every single day. I mean, for me, it's like the same way I brush my teeth, I slap it on. But most people do not have that habit. However, as it gets warmer and the sun is coming closer or the earth you have to apply sunscreen more regularly.
When the long winter finally comes to an end and we step outside our homes to enjoy the first sunny rays, it is time to adjust the skin to spring and summer. Instead of wintry paleness, sun-kissed skin is announced again. It is often forgotten that the delicate rays of the spring sunshine are quite intense. Those who refrain from good sun protection when it comes to skincare in the spring, don’t do their skin a favour. As our skin needs to slowly adjust and get used to the sun rays again after a long winter. And even if it has built its own protection, this is barely enough to effectively prevent sunburn, premature ageing and possible wrinkles. The top rule for skincare in spring is therefore. Never give up high-quality sun protection. And tomato oil isn’t a sunscreen. Remember: we are not a tomato and our skin is nothing like the skin of a tomato.
UV INDEX
The reality is you have to look at the UV index. The UV index is a forecast that measures the strength of UV radiation. There are multiple website where you can check this.
Anything from 0 to 3 is really low risk. You can skip the sunscreen, but that's too hard to remember, and I'd rather you get used to the habit of applying it. That's why I preach it every single day with the toothpaste. Not ingesting it, but applying it. Anything above 3, you should wear sunscreen because 0 to 2 is low risk, right, of UV radiation or skin damage or sun damage.
3 to 5 is moderate. 5 to 7 is high, then it goes into, which is kind of ridiculous, 8 to 10 very high and over 11 extreme. So in my book, anything from moderate to high to very high to extreme is enough to wear sunscreen. So if you see the UV index going above 3, you know you're gonna have to start wearing sunscreen every single day. And here where I live, we have been hitting 3 already for the last few weeks. Now the other reason why I think it's so important to wear sunscreen.
Final Thoughts on Spring Skincare
Finally, in this season, the motto is “less is more”. Instead of resorting to heavy make-up, a slightly tinted day cream with SPF is usually sufficient for skincare in spring. But make sure it has hyaluronic acid as part of its formulation to hydrate your skin throughout the day. When the sun gets stronger and we spend more time outside, reach to your sun lotion to give the longer and more intense sun protection.
What other tips do you have that will help to support your skin in change of season?
Love, Sarah xx
